We are pleased to welcome Tayla Shakespeare to the Ricardo Henriques Lab. Tayla joins us as a Postdoc, funded by the Wellcome Trust EOSS grant.
Tayla completed her PhD at the University of Sheffield in 2025, where she worked in the Department of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology with the Applied Biophotonics Group. Her doctoral thesis focused on "Nanoscale calibration of expansion microscopy to resolve the dynamics of endosome nanodomains in EGFR trafficking". Her research developed quantitative frameworks for visualizing molecular-scale structures in subcellular organelles using calibrated expansion microscopy.
Her recent work includes developing geometry-preserving expansion microscopy protocols and mapping EGFR1 sorting domains in endosomes at nanometre resolution. Tayla brings expertise in super-resolution microscopy, expansion microscopy calibration, and quantitative imaging of receptor trafficking dynamics.
Welcome, Tayla!
