Nuno P. Martins leaves to head the microscopy facility at NOVA Medical School

Nuno P. Martins left the lab on 31 August 2026 to head the microscopy facility at NOVA Medical School in Lisbon, where he started on 2 September.

Nuno joined us in May 2024 as a postdoc on a Chan Zuckerberg Initiative grant, co-supervised by Zita Carvalho-Santos and Ricardo Henriques. He built open-source tools for bioimage analysis and led the imaging and analysis behind XMOFly, an expansion microscopy atlas of the Drosophila oocyte made with Zita's group.

He keeps working with us and with Zita to finish XMOFly, so we will see plenty of him.
