Optical fluorescence microscopy has established itself as an invaluable tool for the study of modern cell biology. Notwithstanding, the “classical” resolution limit prevents the visualization of individual molecules within the labeled ensemble. Super-resolution comes as a solution akin to using eyeglasses under a blurred vision, opening a new view into fluorescently labeled molecules, even within living cells.
