The Henriques lab, in collaboration with Guillaume Jacquemet and Caron Jacobs, has been awarded funding from the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative (CZI), The Kavli Foundation, and The Wellcome Trust as part of the Essential Open Source Software for Science (EOSS) program, Cycle 6. This grant will support our work on DL4MicEverywhere, an open-source platform that aims to make deep learning more accessible for bioimage analysis. DL4MicEverywhere builds upon our previous ZeroCostDL4Mic platform, offering a flexible and user-friendly approach to implementing deep learning techniques across various computational environments.
Impact on Biomedical Research
This funding will enable us to further develop and maintain both DL4MicEverywhere and ZeroCostDL4Mic, making it an even more powerful tools for the biomedical research community. By democratising access to advanced deep learning techniques, we aim to accelerate discoveries in biology and medicine while promoting reproducibility and transparency in scientific research.
We are grateful for the support from CZI, The Kavli Foundation, and The Wellcome Trust, and we look forward to contributing to the advancement of open-source software in science.
