ITQB School Visit: Introducing High-Resolution Microscopy to Secondary School Students
On January 29, 2025, ITQB hosted students from Escola Secundária de Loulé for an educational visit to our research facilities. This visit was designed to introduce secondary school students to advanced microscopy techniques and inspire interest in biological research.
During the visit, postdoctoral researchers Daria Aristova and Mario Del Rosario shared their expertise in super-resolution microscopy and expansion microscopy, offering students a glimpse into the cutting-edge imaging techniques used in modern biological research. Through interactive discussions and engaging presentations, our team aimed to demystify complex scientific concepts and spark curiosity about the microscopic world.
These activities are part of our broader effort to connect with schools and the community, showcasing the exciting work being done in our lab and highlighting the importance of scientific research in everyday life. By opening our doors to young students, we hope to inspire the next generation of scientists and foster a greater appreciation for the role of research in addressing global challenges.
