InfectoBIT ECRA Project at International Microorganism Day

Mario Del Rosario (Henriques Lab) and Raquel Portela (IMIB group) presented their ECRA Prize collaboration project InfectoBIT at International Microorganism Day.
Event Details
Location: Santo Amaro Beach, Oeiras Organizers: ITQB NOVA and CM Oeiras
Project Overview
InfectoBIT is developing tools to observe bacterial infection processes, such as Staphylococcus aureus in cells, using AI-powered microscopy.
The project combines: - Super-resolution microscopy - Machine learning algorithms for automated detection - Quantitative analysis of host-pathogen interactions - Live-cell imaging techniques
Collaboration
The work integrates expertise from the Henriques Lab (AI-driven microscopy and image analysis) and the IMIB Group (microbiology and bacterial pathogenesis), funded through the European Research Awards (ECRA) for early-career researcher collaboration.
