The interview explores how LEGO bricks have been repurposed to build PUMPY, a LEGO-based syringe pump device that enables researchers to inject drugs or dyes into cells during live microscopy experiments without interrupting imaging. This open-source, low-cost approach to scientific instrumentation makes advanced microscopy techniques more accessible to labs worldwide.
